Yeah!!!! It’s finally posted! My short story, There Goes the Neighborhood, took third place in Beginnings Magazine Winter 2006 Contest. It’s free to read, but you can also purchase a hard copy of the magazine. Either way, I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for those that have helped me so much over the past few years.

Kerry,

I just read your story and got quite a kick out of it. Good job.

Thanks, as I usually write pure horror, this one came as a challenge. I had to move my head outside the box, cut back on the profanity and gore and I decided that humor was more interesting for that peice anyway.

Thanks for reading it, I appreciate it.

Last November, I crept into the offices of Coyote Wild late one evening when everyone had gone home. I found the slush pile on the managing editor's desk and (having no morals) removed my story Medicine Man from the bottom of the pile and stuck it back in near the top. ;)

At least I must have, because for some reason, they decided to publish it. It's here if you'd like to look at it.

There are lots of really good stories there as well, including an outstanding one by our own ChunkyC. I hope you get the chance to check them all out. :)

Special thanks to my horror friends whose crits made this a better story.

Well this morning before leaving for work, I checked my e-mail and (For some reason) decided to look in my "junk" folder (Outlook is setup to throw spam away.). Lo and behold, in the "junk" there was a request from an anthology (Print) to send them a .doc or .rtf of a story I submitted to them a few weeks ago as they are interested in using it. It had been there for a week! Outlook had for some reason marked it as spam.

And just this weekend I was looking at an old diary entry from April 1997 - commenting that I'd just received a cheque for 8 pounds (UK) for a short story... How time flies, and in those ten years I basically gave up writing to finish off my PhD...

Novel #2 Accepted!

Woo-Hoo!!!! I'm doing the 'happy author dance' here. :snoopy:

My second novel, Seely's Pond (a dark urban fantasy) has just been accepted for publication (and we've signed the contract). Should be out in late 2007!

Another thing on the coolness scale is that the publisher, HD Image (also produces Aberrant Dreams magazine) only accepts solicited manuscripts - so it was an honor to be asked for my ms in the first place.

Okay, when I get my feet down from the ceiling, I'll get back to work on my next novel, er, series.
