I'm doing a complete rethink and rewrite to this book. I'm changing the story, developing the characters further as well as the conflicts, in other words, making it better. I've been doing lots of reading over the last few weeks.
Here's the new storyline.
Souls Extinguished is the story of a young woman whose life is shattered by a terrible tragedy she unintentionally caused and who embarks on a journey of redemption and self-forgiveness.
Life was good for Jenny Aphrolite until she accidentally burned her house to the ground. She escaped with her life, but her aunt and uncle were not so lucky. Horrified by what she has done, Jenny leaves her hometown of Independence to return to the city of her birth to seek out her grandfather Hubert, the only remaining member of her family. With his help, she can start anew.
But even in Saint Lincoln, the past continues to haunt Jenny. Not helping is Iref, a dragon comprised entirely out of fire that haunts her nightmares; nor does the fact that the incident she unintentionally caused left her a pyrophobic.
How long will it be before her new friends find out about the life she left behind?
