Just curious if anyone knows anything about Wiscon? I have a story coming out in an all-female edition of a magazine which is being published for the occasion. I've thought about attending the conference, but I know nothing about it.

Thanks!! :D

For several sf/f writers I know, it's their favorite con. It's a long-established feminist sf/f con, but it also manages to attract significant small press.

Thanks ladies! The website looks pretty cool, and I think it would be a good way to introduce myself into these convention things (Worldcon really intimidates me!) Shetwa, maybe I'll see you there ;)

This is a more literary con than the regular S.F. events I get to, but then I love partying down with Klingons. (They really DO have the best booze.)

Bring some casual clothing, but have a couple of nice ensembles to wear and above all-- COMFORTABLE SHOES. I can't stress that enough.

Nothing goes right when your feet are uptight.

You can team designer labels with basketball trainers--others will be doing that too!

I posted some pointers for attendees to the more boisterous S.F. con events here:

Not everything will apply to Wiscon, but it should give you an idea on the basics.

Here's more:
Things to do

  • Eat Food
  • Bring Patience
  • Bring an extra bag/or buy one in the Dealers Room first.
  • Drink Plenty of Water
  • Remember your wallet, room key, and your badge.
And HAVE FUN!

re-bump.

I'll be there. And on panels. And reading.
Anyone else? Would love to see friendly AWer faces :)
