Hi guys,

I need help. I need a beta reader who is from England or knows a lot about London. Particularly London of the year 1700. My second book takes place there and I got some help with the streets and setting, but I want to fact check it. I’m not sure if I used the correct streets. The only maps I can find are hard to read or too resent.

Another beta I need is someone who can tell me if my portrayal of African slaves on a slave ship is decent and correct.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jack,
Though I live in Scotland now, I lived in London for five years and worked for a while as a tour guide on walks there, so I know a fair bit about its history and I do have access to information on the city in 1700 (including a book you might want to look for called London, 1700: Portait of a City ).

At the moment I don't have the time to commit to a full beta job, with Christmas and exams coming up, but if there are any specific historical issues I might help with or any passages you're concerned about, feel free to PM me. I know its a beta you're looking for and I hope someone else can help. :)

Thanks JessRamage.

I don’t have certain passages that stand out, but maybe certain chapters.

See, after a few beginning chapters in Connecticut, USA, the main character goes to London to live. Her brother is in the Caribbean living with pirates while she lives in London, trying to find him while becoming involved in other characters.

I cover a chapter with Roland (the brother in the Caribbean) and then one with Annabelle (the sister in London) and go back and forth. So every other chapter shows the streets and world of post fire London at night. I’m hoping the streets I use exited in 1700 London. We also watch as my vampire child (Annabelle) flees from the evil vampire hunter across the London Bridge.

If you would like, I could send it to you and you could look at it on your own schedule.
The chapters that use London as a setting are 16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32 and 34.

Thanks.
