from now until the first of the year?

Do agents/publishers tend to not even look at anything during this time, given the holiday schedule and days off?

In the regular business world that I'm used to, not much at all gets done - and gets lost in the shuffle - from now until after the first of the year.

Thanks much for your thoughts!

Maybe someone else has the answer, but I would think that given the thousands of letters and proposals they receive, editors and agents would not want to back themselves up. I would imagine that they continue to work as much as possible.

Just my guess.

I'm starting to finish off my pile of emailable agents and going to be moving on to my list of agents who only take snail mail submissions. Since it is getting close to Thanksgiving and I know that lots in the industry take off between mid December and the beginning of January, I was thinking of not mailing my stuff out til the second week of January. I guess it doesn't matter if it is sitting in a pile now or later. I guess I have a fear of things more likely getting lost the longer they sit in piles. Probably unreasonable. Also, I know that when I used to get piles and piles of mail - the ones that sat in the pile and were at the bottom always got the full blast of my resentment. So I'm trying to avoid being in the bottom of the holiday pile. I'm sure I'm being silly.
