And they didn't cast me?! Blast! Drat! I'm going to sic the biggest Kamehameha wave on them!

Lord, I hope this doesn't suck. I love DBZ. I don't suppose it;ll start with "clueless Goku" meeting Bulma. Those eps were hysterical.

This is ridiculous. They were supposed to do Thundercats first!

I suppose, since I own a fair amount of Dragon Ball crap from my younger years when I was a lot more stoned, that I will have to go watch this movie.

What I am really excited about though is The Golden Compass on Dec. 7 in a theatre near you.

As a great fan of Dragon Ball I don't know wether I should be excited by these news or I should just go ahead and kill myself.

I'm reserving the right to kill myself after I see it.

(I just know they're going to screw it up . . . is it too late to petition against doing the Frieza saga?)

:snoopy::cry:As long as they don't cast a midget for Krillin, I think I'll survive.

I am a big anime fan and I have always DESPISED Dragonball because of its horrible, horrible art style. I looooathe it.

But maybe I could stand to watch it live action. Are they going to digitally enhance the actors so they all have big heads?

Forgive my otaku-ness, but . . .

WOO HOO! They're finally filming it!

A live-action Dragonball Z movie, with James Marsters as Vegeta. Oooh, color me happy. Tentatively releasing on August 15, which is right around my son's birthday -- perfection!

(It better not suck. Grrrrrr . . . )

Oh Gawd. I wonder how this will turn out. Every comic piece seems to be turning into movies these days, show's you that there is a lack of real good writing out there. Or probably there isn't, and the movie industry is just trying to poison us!

I think they're running out of comic book heroes and moving on to anime.

-- I'd personally like to see Inuyasha done live action.

Edit to add: and if I squint at it just right, I can see Marsters playing Naraku, though I don't think he's really pretty enough.

(And of cartoons, period, including western 'toons -- the cartoon that I would most like to see live action is Gargoyles. Preferably as a live action TV series over a movie. There have been attempts in the past to make it live action, but they've failed for one reason or another.)

Looks like Marster's playing Piccolo, though, not Vegeta.

I would die of happiness if they made a Gargoyles live action movie. After, y'know, I'd seen it. Then I would rise from the dead so I could see it again.

I really would need Keith David to play Goliath, though. I might do something regrettable if Goliath had any other voice.

Yeah -- Keith David is Goliath, though there are a few other actors who could probably pull it off if he's not available.

Crispin Freeman, however, does a killer Broadway impression. Absolutely dead on 100% perfect. (I've seen him reduce a room at a Gargoyles convention to a mix of laughter and awed silence. I had my head turned when he said something 'As Broadway' and I turned around expecting Faggerbakke -- who was at the same con -- to be the source of the line.)

However, in a live action movie, the one who'd be difficult to cast appropriately would be Elisa. Sally Richards is getting a little old for the role (not that she's old, she's just not young twenty-ish anymore) and the fans will be very ... picky ... about anyone else cast to play the part.

OTOH, there's no reason they couldn't retcon Elisa to be 30-something rather than 25. I always thought it was improbable to have a 25 year old detective anyway.

Thread. . . be reborn!

Is anyone looking forward to this film? I know it's going to be mindless and that's the fun. I can't wait to see some good old fashioned hardcore kickassery Dragonball style. And James Fricken Marsters! As Piccolo!

This will either be a godawful disappointment (much like Street Fighter. . .god that was awful) or off the chain. My expectations are high.

Has anyone seen the foreign Dragonball movie? I got it on Netflix for the boys and they couldn't finish it. Absolute gutter trash. One of the hokiest MA flicks I've evr seen. But with that being said...

I saw a sneak peek of the new DB trailer and it looked awesome. Chow Yun Fat as Master Roshi? He's too cool, even for the perve. Bits and pieces have been leaked but if you scroll down this page you can get a glimpse of the movie!

That trailer does indeed look awesome. The dragonballs look decent, Piccolo actually looks pretty creepy and the orange jumpsuit is in! What more could I ask for?

And please don't remind me of that godawful movie. I still have nightmares about it.
