Sabrina

Hi all!

I'm a newbie! :D Eek! I've always been very interested in writing and absolutewrite.com has been a godsend. This period in my life is quite odd - I just turned eighteen, my parents are about to divorce, and I'm going to UCONN in the fall to study what they want me to study >< - I guess writing helps me escape reality. Anyone else feel that way? I'm happy to be here and hope to get to know you all in the near future!

Hasta pasta!
Sabrina

Hey Sabrina. Welcome to AW :hi:

I know how it is with divorced parents. Mine have been divorced for over 12 years and they are still fighting. I use to write to escape all the drama. I'm glad you're here. And what Zaz says. Don't study what someone else wants you too. Study what you want. I hope to see you around.

Welcome Sabrina! Lovely name! We're so glad you found us here!

I surely hope your parents will grow more open to what you want to study - it's your life, after all. My parents didn't have something particular they wanted me to study, but they couldn't quite understand why I chose English. As time went on, they saw how happy I was, and it wasn't an issue.

I do hope things work out for you in that area, whatever you choose.

And welcome, again! :)

Hi Sabrina. Study what you want, or else you could be me! I'm in my late 20's and back in college to study what I want, instead of what they wanted....As exciting as it is to start over, it's as scary as hell. Do what you want the first time!

Wow! Thank you all so much! :D It's great to hear from you!

And I am thinking about changing my major to something I do want to do, and compromise by promising to also study how to teach it. :-D Maybe English! *squeak* So fun!
