I am currently working as a freelance writer/reviewer and have a novel due out next year from PA. I am grateful for my current publishing experience because it has been an incredible learning process, however, I certainly have my concerns. That being said, I'm currently working on multiple projects that I want to be as close to sheer literary perfection as possible.
If you had to choose five online writing courses and five associations that were essential to improving one's craft, which would you choose?

I write paranormal romance and sci-fi fantasy and am fortunate enough to have easy access to my local RWA chapter which has wonderful workshops. I am also very close to DC where we have a great freelance community, but I really feel like I want to challenge myself a bit more.

Thank you all for your input.

I have to apologize it was my intention to keep this within the PA thread but I neglected to check "stay in topic!"
Sorry!

This thread would be better off up in the Writing Novels board anyway.

Kate,

I agree with Uncle Jim about where this thread belongs.

That being said, if I had a little extra money, I'd forget about online writing workshops and apply for the Viable Paradise writer's workshop...

I'm impressed by what they offer.

For more info, click on any of James D. MacDonald's links that say, "Learn Writing With Uncle Jim."

I'm going to close this topic here but leave a *shadow one so folks who want to respond can do so on the Novel Writing board.

* If I don't screw it up.

I think it's interesting to see where Kate was, and where she is now. I think we all pretty much know how she feels about her publisher at this point. LOL
