Nokotas are really interesting. There's a lot of evidence that they're descendants of Sitting Bull's warhorses. Many of them are beautiful blue roans.

Blue Moon Rising, the Nokota on loan, is one of my favorite horses at the Park. I just wish I could do more to help save these historic horses.
Hi! I'm Blue Moon Rising's owner. He's home now from the Kentucky Horse Park after 7-months promoting the Nokota breed. He'll be returning to KHP in the Spring of 2008 - after the winter-off at our farm.

Blue Moon has a lovely personality as well as physical looks. It's always a special thrill for me when I get to interact with him after the show.
