I used to occasionally visit the old boards, and just found the new ones a few days ago! I'm finally getting around to signing up and introducing myself. :)

My name is Julia, and I'm a freelance writer/proofreader/editor. I am happily married to my knight in blue jeans. I have a B.A. in English, and thoroughly enjoy this field. I love to write! My specialties include marriage, relationships, and women's health.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and visiting the boards regularly, but not lurking this time! :)

I'm happy you found yours. Now if only I can find mine. I guess it will happen someday. Welcome to AW, Julia :welcome:

Thank you, sthrnwriter! :) I assure you, when it happens, you'll know. You just will. Everyone told me that, and after the slew of toads I knew, this guy was my prince. :) And I was a few years older than you when he and I even met, so there's still hope! (Not that I'm that much older, anyway. LOL! He and I got together when I was 23/24, and we've been married for 2 years.)

Anyway, I'm very glad to meet you, and look forward to chatting more on the boards! :)

LOL -You wrote a poem for me! I like you already! :):):) How fun! Actually, the sing-songyness (I made that up) reminds me of "Monsters, Inc." when they're pretending to practice for the musical, "Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!" ;)

Thanks rhymegirl!

Welcome Julia !

Thank you Arisa81! I love your quote:

"Get involved in everything you've ever dreamed of doing" -Marion Jones

It reminds me of the thoughts behind a book I once read, about doing what you dream, instead of just dreaming it. :)

Welcome Julia and enjoy your stay (forever).

Triceratops

Wow, thank you so much, Triceratops! Thinking ahead there, and I love it! Thanks for making me feel right at home.

My best friend used to live in Hemet, CA, but she moved out here to TX not too long ago. Small world...I'd never heard of Hemet before, and now I know of two who have lived there. :)

Thank you for the compliment, Temlyn! That's my Blue-crown Rio, and he will be 19 years old soon. He'll be pleased that you noticed him. LOL!

I'm impressed. Most people don't even know what conures are. :)

Awww, give him a birdy snuggle for me! I miss my birds. My parents live in Florida, and I moved to Texas after I got married 2 years ago, so I don't see my "babies" very often. We/they don't have a conure, but I was loving on a baby conure in a pet store recently - what a baby! :)

My parents currently have a Cockatiel, a Quaker Parrot, and an Amazon Grey. I've grown up with birds, and long to have one here. Maybe someday my husband will agree. ;) :)
