Help me ID this problem

I guess I could just use identified, but this is driving me nuts!

Wouldn't it be short for identified so IDed
It's not identifie would

I may be wrong but though the first looks wrong I think it is more correct.

I think I'd go for ID'd. I read "IDed" as "I ded".

I would write it as ID'd, but if it was really driving me nuts, I'd use identified.

That's okay, Wendy. I was going to go with Eye Deed. I've always seen it ID'd. I've never seen IDed. But you know who would probably know this for sure is a screenwriter. They use that term in police shows all the time.

If we're taking tallies, I'd go ID'd. I think it works better phonetically.

I'd say either "identified" or "ID'd" depending on the narrative voice.

I deed not know this would be so tricky.

I write ID'd and always wonder if it's correct, but the survey seems to say yes. I never put the periods in anymore (TV, USA, etc) since it's annoying to type and something easy enough to change if a publisher/editor insists.
