First, a warm congratulations to all the poets; you created a wonderful collection, and I know we've all enjoyed reading the epitaphs.
Second, a hearty thanks to all the voters; I hope you enjoyed the reading. Your interest and participation have earned our gratitude.
Third, a deep thanks to MacAllister for donating the second- and third-place prizes. Your generosity and support are wonderful and deeply appreciated.
Fourth, I realise I haven't actually revealed the first prize in this contest. Here it is:
Birds -- Poems by Judith Wright (http://www.unireps.com.au/isbn/9780642107749.htm)
Judith Wright was an Australian poet; her work is well-loved here. This book combines her poems with exquisite illustrations. It's a gorgeous book; I'm going to order it again for myself.
---------------------
Finally, here are the podium placings of the Poets' Graveyard contest:
1st place: Delarege
for epitaph #23, My Poor Old Boots
2nd place: Priene
for epitaph #31, Sergey Esenin
3rd place: Norman D Gutter
for epitaph #8, For Charles Lamb, who died too young
-----------------------
I will contact the winners by PM to arrange delivery of their prizes.
I have updated the contest entries with poets' names. To the entrants: If you don't want your name listed, please let me know right away.
A more complete list of results is at post #14 in this thread.
Thank you, everyone!

Congratulations to the winners!
That was a very fun contest - and it was extremely hard to vote as there were a lot that caught my eye ... Charles Lamb had been one of the 4 poems I put in the hat and then picked three ...

Our winner, Delarege, has donated his first prize to be auctioned.
Since the AW auctions aren't running at the moment, I'll put it back in the prize pool. I'll sort out the prizes again. And the fourth-place winner, JRH, will now receive one of the prizes.
When the auctions are running again, I'll donate *another* copy of the Judith Wright book to the auctions in Del's name.
Thank you, Del. You're a champion.

Congratulations to the winners--and thanks to all those who entered. I really enjoyed reading them all.
BTW, the three that I voted for all finished near the middle of the pack--but in my opinion were still the best  )

My votes went to Sherlock Holmes, Joseph A Sixpack and Epitath for opposites (Not necessarily in that order ... ) And I still go back to the thread to reread them for the wonderful smile each gave ... Excellent submissions from everyone - it was a most difficult task ... and I think that the OPPOSITES contest will be even more difficult.

I resurrected this one for fun:
poem of my tomb
my epitaph
will laud my life,
get the last laugh;
extolling my virtues
remembering my past,
hiding my secrets
my word's the last.
come and visit
my quiet spot,
don't bring a book
I talk a lot.
cryptic and wise,
a puzzle to quiz
I have my critics,
working with words, I'm a whiz.
