Does anyone have any leads on where to locate an agent that specializes (or at least has experience) in YA/Childrens books? I have tried several online lists but several don't seem to be accepting new work, are not specialized in the genre (and honestly don't seem to be real interested in obtaining clients in that area), or they are not doing the genre any more? Specifically I need some one who is open to an unpublished author....

Thank you

...And if you prefer something in hard copy, check out Children's Writers and Illustrators Market.

(But always cross-check the info there with Agent Query and / or the agent's website.)

If you have $20 to spare this month, get a subscription to Publishers Marketplace. You can view agents' recent deals and see who's been selling children's and YA.

Also if you're in the UK, check your local library for a copy of this year's Childrens' Writer's & Artist's Year Book, which has specialised articles and agent's/publisher's lists for the UK. It costs around 13 quid if you want to buy a copy from a bookseller (and is cheaper on Amazon).

Lilly at Full Circle Lit does children's books. Also D4EO. Also, Peter Rubie I believe.
