I have written exactly one horror story in my entire life.

One.

It is less than 2000 words.

I sold it to Dark Recesses a while back. (Issue #4)
I just found out tonight that I have sold it for the second time to Pseudopod.

Consider this yer challenge to write some regular fantasy and sci-fi stories all youse horror peoples/vegetables/things!

I expect to see some of you coming by the SF/F subforum to announce your grandiose showing-uppage.

A dark, evil place.
Congrats, Duck. I'm a subscriber to Pseudopod, so I'll be watching for your story.

Now about us horror types going over to the dark side--you know, sci-fi and fantasy--it sounds to me like maybe you ought to spend more time in horror instead. :D

What? A challenge?! This may not be fair but I already sold a couple of fantasy pieces, one this year (a novel exerpt that placed in a novel writing contest) and a novella from last year for Silven Publishing (now defunct). But I'm starting to get my free time back and am ready to hit the keyboard with a drunken revelry.

Behind you! Boo.
I've been thinking about writing a horror piece. Would Joyce Carol Oates be considered a horror writer? Kinda sorta? I love her stuff.

And just a little FYI to any of her fans in the NYC area: she's speaking at the 92nd St Y on Fri, Nov. 9. Join me!

I say we put BD and Haggis in a wet burlap sack and see who wins.

Same Psychosis...different day.
Hullo.
***waits as Mr. Gis and Mr. Thunder pull themselves from the ceiling***

I've written 5 horror stories. They are all short, between 1,000 and 5,500 words.

'Anger' was published in a YA magazine (Beyond Centauri) last Halloween, and another 'Creamy White Flesh' is part of a horror anthology ('Don't turn on the Light') that is due out in March '08.

The others I keep subbing and get responses like 'too much gratuitive violence' and 'not enough gratuitive violence'.

Eventually they'll stick in someone's brain.:D

As far as cross over....I've got a fantasy novel on the back burner and once Science Fiction Novel out (please..please agent people...like it...) another compleated and waiting a final edit& crit and a third finished-ish.

But my beta says the second is too scary so she doesn't want to read # 3.

Come on...Brain Sucking Aliens aren't horror...are they?

Oh..right..Haggis' and Rt are mods here.

Um.......

.....

Excuse me.

Ahhhhhh.
