Me = I am a never published amateur. Total Noob. 'nuff said.
The story = Just under 4000 words, start to a Regency Romance novel. It is my first attempt at trying to weave in suspense/mystery elements into my writing. I have edited for spelling/grammar, but I just recently finished the chapter and still in my "I write like a Goddess," mode, so no serious editing has been done.
I am looking for someone to privately critique the first two chapters of a novel I recently started. I am not requesting beta readers because it is unfinished and I am not churning it out fast enough for a steady reader or exchange.
I have a couple questions about themes and pacing (which is my main motivation for wanting feed back) and I would appreciate any other advice that someone wanted to supply. I have thick skin, and although pacing is my main concern if there are other flaws (which I am sure there are), I definitely want to know about them.
I would be happy to reciprocate on someone's WIP, similar length, but my credentials stop at 'Avid Reader'. I can tell you if the flow is off, or abruptly ends, and I am dynamite at showing what phrases or scenes can make readers put your story down, but I am not so skilled with detailed technique advice.
I know this might seem a better fit in SYW, but my confidence isn't quite there yet. Thanks for the consideration!
