I guess it is a generational thing. How can one omit Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, Arty Shaw, Woody Herman, Harry James, plus all the great band singers who went on to become pop icons such as Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Ella and more??

Is there a lower limit to the size of bands? If the Beatles can be included, so can groups like Dave Brubeck and the MJQ. I think in terms of trios, quartets, quintets, and then Bands and the Big Bands.
