Does anyone know of such sites? I've been digging into the sites of e-publishers that issue fantasy books, but I can't figure out where such books are being reviewed.

there are many sites that review e-books. some are genre specific, some are not. when I was shipping Asphodel out to be destroyed...er....reviewed, I googled fantasy review sites and found several.

I will warn you in advance that not many reviewers like to review e-books, and most particularly not POD or self-pubbed or vanity pubbed novels. Most review sites have submission guidelines that will let you know what they accept and how to go about it.

Well, yeah, I know that (says the self-published author with a smile). But the romance review world is fairly open to such submissions, since so many of the books there are issued by small-press e-publishers that are often nothing more than one-person businesses. I know that, because I used to edit a publishing news report that covered GLBT romance writing, but I haven't been sure what the situation is like in the fantasy world, since the SF/F news sites give so little attention to e-publishing. So, um, would you mind mentioning the names of some of the fantasy review sites that review e-books? Because I didn't post this question here till I'd spent about four hours Googling in vain.

Did you goggle "review fantasy novel?"

I came up with quite a few results on that. I'd put as many review requests as I could at sitees like sffworld.com. As far as I can tell, that would be the best you could do. I don't know that they DO review e-pub books, but it certainly is worth trying as long as they don't say they won't consider it.

Nope, I didn't try that particular combo. :) Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks also for the suggestion about sffworld.com. I'd run across it last night, but couldn't find the "submit book for review" link anywhere on the home page, and therefore gave up too easily on it.

It's hard to find. I believe it is at the very bottom in a link with small letters saying authors and publishers--something like that. :)

Glad to help.

Google... I always seem to make a typo on their name. :D

*sigh*

there are several that I found that review fantasy e-books. www.inthelibraryreviews.net , www.thefantasyreview.com , http://themusebookreviews.tripod.com/

I was able to find these in about two hours or so. It takes a little bit of patience and the ability to search these sites, but it does pay off eventually. I know that Coffee Time Romance and Love Romances & More will review fantasy novels. Although they are primarily romance review sites, they also review genre works. I'm sure that there are a few more if you dig for them. Happy hunting.

Wow, thank you very much indeed. (My computer thanks you heartily too, because the laptop I use for Web surfing is on its last legs.) I didn't mean to put you to all that trouble; I hope that the sites are useful to you as well.

At least I don't feel quite so stupid now for not turning these up before. :)

Fortunately I've accumulated a nice list of romance review sites, and since I write both gay fantasy love stories and regular fantasy stories, I don't mind having a romance site review the latter.

Thanks again for all your hard work on my behalf. I really appreciate it.

So it is. :) I saw a navigation bar at the top and a navigation bar on the side, and it didn't occur to me to check for a navigation bar at the bottom. Silly me.

LOL--

trust me, I didn't just sit down and google these last night. Actually, when my e-book came out a couple of months ago, I went through just this sort of thing. I actually went through my email and zipped out some addys for you.
