Two-disc 21st Anniversary Special. :D I'm saving it for when I get home from my first day at work, as a special treat!

I just wondered if everyone else agrees that this fillum is the mutt's nuts? Yes? Jolly good.

No? Oh, well.

I think AWIL is a classic of the genre, groundbreaking in many respects with the hand growing into paw scenes and the face stretching into a snout scene. Great stuff. I need to get a copy for my collection.

The mutt's nuts = the dog's bollocks = pretty damn bloody brilliant. :D

I remember seeing this for the first time and being so freaked out in an, omgeezuss that's so cool, way by the transformation. Wasn't this some sort of milestone flick for CGI? It's still my favorite werewolf movie.

No. This was 1981. It was all make-up. That's what made it so wonderful. The most excellent Rick Baker did the make-up special effects. He even won an Oscar for it.

I was allowed to see this for the first time when I was around ten. My mother and stepdad never censored any books or movies. They let me see or read anything, because they knew I could handle it. I got spooked, in a good way and fell in love with the fillum. I reckon I've seen it about five or six times so far.

1981? Lordy. Even the spine cracking stuff was make-up effects (the visual, not the sounds)? Dang! I was ten when it came out, Scarlet, but I can't remember how old I was when I saw it. I just remember being so grossed out and fascinated by the transformation. And I thought the dude was, like, totally hawt. lol, yeah, must have been young when I saw it myself.

Yep, he was hawt all righty. ;)

And what made it even better was the humour.

I didn't like the sex scene though. I thought that was proper gratuitous. And would a professional nurse really have picked up a patient in that way?! Mind you, she was Jenny Agutter...

Jenny Agutter is so pretty. I forgot that she was in it. I remember seeing her in an old tv mini-series when I was little and thinking I wished I looked like her. (bony, glasses, tall as heck when I was a kid)

I always jump at the part where David closes the bathroom cabinet and sees...um...thingy...Griffin Dunne...in the mirror. Even though I know it's coming.

Cripes! Feeling my age. I saw it in the theatre. Twice! We found it hilarious and cheese filled. That's why we went back. It was campy...almost cultish...

I bet you've been called a cult before, spaz.

lol, I was watching the trailer for 30 Days of Night the other day, and BAM, right off the bat they have some woman getting snatched out of her living room by a creepy monster. I almost fell out of my chair because I was watching on the comp and had my nose about three inches from the monitor and the volume on too loud.

I achieved cult like status in the mid 80s...but that status has since been stripped.

Best. Transformation. Ever!
(and, like someone said, pre-CGI)

Also, it's got Jenny Agutter as a nurse.
*goes to drool in a corner*

I loved this movie, it was so cool! I bet they play it again soon on the AMC or something, it was the best werewolf movie ever. :D
