PRIMUS'S ARM SWOOPS downwards, and his SOLDIERS OPEN FIRE.
A mile of M-16’s, AK47’s, muskets, cannons, revolvers, 45s,
crossbows, a whaling harpoon, and other ancient range
weapons light up the night sky with a glowing heat. We see
only muzzle fire, but don't see the impact. Lord Primus
survey’s the aftermath clinically and coldly.
LORD PRIMUS
Interesting. These weapons work well.
Have that one and that one mounted in my
office.
RUINIS SARK
Yes my lord. With pleasure.
EXT – A NEIGHBORING SOLAR SYSTEM – EARTH VOYAGER SATELLITE
The ALTUS INTERCEPTOR rockets by a very old “Voyager
Satellite”, still playing 20th century recordings. (a speech
about freedom and the right to live in peace can
be heard)
The EARTH FEDERATION FLEET, now further behind,
passes by the voyager satellite. The satellite gets spun
around and should arrive back at Earth in 10,000 years.
INT – ALTUS INTERCEPTOR
BRYANT
Are they in combat range?
ALEXA
No, Not yet.
BRYANT
Good
ALEXA
Bryant.
The computer says fifty thousand
people WERE JUST killed on Rygas -
I...
She's lost for words. Bryant blocks it out.
BRYANT
Hit the quantum drive.
ALEXA
Did you hear me?
Fifty thousand killed on RYGAS.
BRYANT

What can we do?

ALEXA
We’ve got no quantum
drive. They’re jamming it.

pick up life signs on Rygas?
BRYANT
Hidden Sensors we placed there a long time ago.
The Interceptor gets hit from behind by laser
fire.
BRYANT
Our Federation tail wind is doing us no good,
If we’re going to stop Primus and his
mad house, then we’re going to have to ditch this fleet.
ALEXA
And how do propose to do either.
Jeez Bryant that was close!
EXT – ALTUS INTERCEPTOR
The Interceptor gets hit by concussion missiles and laser
fire. Sparks fly everywhere inside the cabin.
ALEXA
I’ll just ask Lord Primus if he doesn’t mind
us freeing his forced laborers and taking
them back to their home worlds. While I'm at
it I'll get my father to pardon you. How's that?
BRYANT
OK. Enough fooling around. Strap in!
We’re at the worm hole.
EXT. - ALTUS INTERCEPTOR
The Interceptor flies into a worm hole

EXT – PLANET RYGAS – GREAT WALL OF RYGAS
LORD PRIMUS
Let the Nekrill come, and harvest the
Bodies.
RUINIS SARK speaks a few words in an ancient tongue.
Insectoid like aliens, prehistoric Nekrill with large shark-
like teeth climb over the Great Wall and descend upon the
bodies. The bodies are obscured by the volume of the
Nekrill. We see one or two humans being dragged into crevices in the ground.
MANTUS Soldier's fire their weapons in celebration.
Some accidentally shoot each other. The dying soldiers find
little humour in the accidents. The living are amused.
Lord Primus, in a black flowing cloak, floats upward and
travels a few miles away from the atrocity towards a
TRANSPORT SHIP.
EXT – PLANET RYGAS – TRANSPORT LANDING AREA
A TRANSPORT SHIP with two exits brings in a group of new
mine workers and their families. At one exit willing hopeful
miners disembark the TRANSPORT. At a second exit abductees
are pushed by soldiers from behind. The two groups meet for
the first time on the vast plain of Rygas surrounded by
jagged mountains. Lord Primus greets them warmly.
LORD PRIMUS
Hello, Welcome to Rygas. Enjoy your stay.
Expressions on the new arrival’s faces turn to alarm as armed Mantus soldiers approach them.
A lone alien, rugged, timeless looking, walks with the New
Arrivals without fear. His eyes are bright and strong. His
name is LITMUS SHANKS. A few others appear to share his
confidence.
LITMUS SHANKS
(sotto voice)
Where the hell is Bryant?
COMPANION 1
(low)
He's late.
COMPANION 2
(low)
Or dead.
LITMUS SHANKS
(quietly)
Not Bryant. He's not dead.
He'll turn up. We just need to be patient.
They exchange glances then melt back into the
crowd of hundreds.
Mantus Soldiers lead the new arrivals toward hover crafts
that take them to the thousands of slum towns scattered
across this deadly planet. Nekrill watch from the shadows.
Near every slum town is a Red Ore Mine with a sign on it –
“WELCOME TO RYGAS.”
INT – WORM HOLE –
The ALTUS INTERCEPTOR travels through this often frequented space highway. The Federation Armada and the Niagara follows and gains on the fighter. Laser Fire hits the INTERCEPTOR.
INT – ALTUS INTERCEPTOR
A small fire erupts behind Bryant in the cockpit. Alexa
turns and puts it out with a hand extinguisher.
ALEXA
How can they shoot us in a worm
hole? That’s a new weapon.
BRYANT
Never Mind. I’m dropping all shield
power –
ALEXA
I know what you’re thinking. The
Federation’s as good as ditched.
BRYANT
Damn right they're ditched!
Watch this.
EXT. – ALTUS INTERCEPTOR
The Interceptor exits the worm hole. A high powered
energy field scatters across space from it's
REAR ENGINES. The fighter shoots forward towards a distant sun at 10 times the speed of light - towards RYGAS.
The speed boost lasts 20 seconds. The pursuing army still follows but much further behind.
BRYANT
Now we jump head first into hell.
ALEXA
Rygas.
BRYANT
Certain Death!
ALEXA
Zero Chance of escape!
BRYANT
Yep..Zero Chance!
ALEXA
Count me in.
BRYANT
You sure?
ALEXA
Yes!
BRYANT
Worth dying for?
ALEXA
Yes.
BRYANT
