Hi everyone. I’m Pat, and I was asked to help Roger and Betty moderate the Christian Forum in July (’07). Welcome to the forum, and in case you don’t already know me from these boards, I thought I’d introduce myself as well.

I am a born-again, Bible-believing Christian. I was raised Plymouth Brethren, attended Bible churches at Wheaton, and have since attended Anglican, Bible, and Fellowship churches. I’m a bit of a mixed breed, and love the diversity that we have in the Body of Christ!

I’m a wife and mother of two, ages 21 and 16, and writing is my fourth career (though it’s at most a part-time endeavor). I went from school teacher to antiques dealer to ice skating instructor to writer, and have been writing for publication since 2005. My first love is writing poetry, though I have published devotionals and articles as well, and keep a book idea simmering on the back burner.

I look forward to getting to know you, and hope that you’ll feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns you might have about this forum, or writing, or whatever. I’d love to hear from you!

The lovely Pat~ asked me to tell everyone a bit about myself.

I was a Cradle Catholic and entered the convent at 18. It's not like Sister Act or The Sound of Music. Sorry. :) Four years later, I left, and spent most of the next 20 years running from God. Fortunately, God is persistent and full of mercy.

I'm just a plain old Christian now, and my years of running gave me an appreciation for many different roads to God. I have Pagan friends, Wiccan friends, Jewish friends, Buddhist friends, atheist friends--and the commonality between all of us is a continual source of discussion. So are the differences, of course.

My elder son is starting college this year, and my younger son will be a freshman in HS. I write horror, mysteries, speculative fiction, and paranormals. I'm an opinionated broad, but I promise to use the riding crop judiciously here. :e2teeth:

Questions? Comments? Pleas for mercy? PM me. :D

And thirdly, I'm III (which my friends pronounce aye-aye-aye). I love Jesus and his Word and I'm happy to be part of this forum. This is a very special place where people nurture and educate each other, regardless of our backgrounds. I'm excited about the potential of Christian literature breaking new ground and touching and entertaining new and diverse generations. That's what we're hoping to facilitate here. Lord knows we've got some talented and imaginative writers who hang out here and we want our community to grow and succeed.

Personal stuff - rapidly approaching middle age and resembling Homer Simpson a little more each day, father of four, married 18 years, wrote and self-published a series of Christian fiction novels, hoping to develop my chops and eventually be published, I'm also a musician and help moderate the Music forum here at AW, I build wicked-awesome analytic databases, and I love serial commas.
