So, the short story I've been working my butt off for, the place I want to submit it, their guidelines live over here. (http://www.allstarstories.com/epics-guidelines.html)
That's right! "The operation timed out when trying to reach..." Anyone know what happened to All-Star Stories, with specific respect to their TWENTY EPICS Anthology? I mean, this is just a web problem, right? No reflection on the health of the actual publisher? ...Thank you...

Can you run a Google search to find the homepage of those restrictions, and then e-mail someone in charge?

I Am Confused. "Restrictions"? (The domain that appears to have vanished is that of All Star Stories, and the page I want in particular is a page of submission guidelines.) I suppose I could grab the Google cached version and try an email address from the page, although I'd be out of luck if the email address is at the same domain that vanished.
Good thing I copied down the physical addy. Still, just wondering if anyone knows what's up with the disappearance...

hmmm...nope.
You might want to think about a back-up market for that story, just in case...

Sorry, Nicole. When I wrote "restrictions," I meant "guidelines." I was wondering if you could find the homepage source of All Stars, and then find someone's email to ask them what's going on. I don't know how their site is organized, but usually when I've looked at publishers, etc., their guidelines are on separate pages from their contact information.

I don't know how their site is organized, but usually when I've looked at publishers, etc., their guidelines are on separate pages from their contact information. That would work, only it's the whole domain that's gone, not just the guidelines page. I'm essentially getting a Cannot Find Server response, not a 404 Page Not Found.
(I thought you might have meant "guidelines" but I didn't want to assume... ;) )
MacAllister - I do, never fear, but TWENTY EPICS looked like such a good fit...! Once upon a time I broke my personal rule of "Never enter contests with entry fees" because I had this really good feeling about the piece I was submitting and how well it fit the theme. I ended up winning the grand prize. I've learned to trust that feeling, since.
In the morning, I'll send off a letter with SASE to check on their status. It's still a whole month to the deadlines specified in the guidelines, if I remember it correctly as being March 16th.

If you look in google or other search engines caches you may find the old site, then you could lift the editors email and write to ask about this. It may just be computer server issues or something.

It may just be computer server issues or something.I was about to get snippy with ya there, and fume a bit on the theme of if the website domain is down, obviously any email address at that domain will be nonfunctional! Googlecaching won't help! but then I thought better of it. Maybe my assumption that the editor's email address would be at the allstarstories.com domain would be incorrect, after all.
As it turns out, I found the editor's weblog (http://www.chrononaut.org/log/) (at a different domain) via the cached copy of the submission guidelines.
I was just about to post a comment to his blog asking him about the website downage, when I thought, what the hey, I should try the link one more time.
And guess what?! The allstarstories.com website (http://www.allstarstories.com/epics-guidelines.html) is back up. So. Er. Nevermind...

wow--what a cool site. And as it happens, I actually think I have a suitable story that I've been wondering where to send...

wow--what a cool site.Isn't it, though? I think I found it via TNH's "particles" links. The one linking to Twenty Epics said something like, "Best. Submission guidelines. Ever."
