My comp class told us to do a research paper revolving around our major, so I chose to do something on wildlife conservation, namely reptile and amphibian conservation (I want to be a herpetologist). Only problem is, even when I use every surrounding colleges' search engines, e-libraries, databases, etc, I can't find much that I can use.

Don't get me wrong, they have some amazing stuff on there, but the research paper has to include current resources, dating from October 2006-now, and nothing else, so I can't use most of the stuff available to me.

Anyone willing to help me from going any further up shit creek?:)

If you are doing a research paper you should be searching scientific articles. Your school should have subscriptions to several search engines. Ask your librarian to help you and look for conservation/ecology articles.

Also, when I did my first conservation paper (post-grad) I was told by the prof that I would not find my topic (we had to choose from a list of 4) in any articles (not outright). I had to extrapolate and draw out ideas and conclusions. Otherwise I would be doing a Review paper, rather than a research paper. Perhaps check with your professor- what does he want and is your topic okay. Can he point you in the right direction?

Cheers,
Christina
