facial hair or not??

Hi...this question is kinda directed to all the females here, but male opinions are welcomed as well.
OK, i am working on my second novel and I'm describing my main male C. He was an ancient Romanian creature in my first book...he is human now - tall, swarthy, handsome in a very dark way, looks to be in his mid-thirties...I want him to have a neat goatee, but I am not certain if that will detract from his uhh...how should I say...sexiness?
I mean, when u look at novel covers...and even most movies, the main guy is always clean shaven, regardless of his age.
SSSSOOOOO...WHAT DO U ALL THINK? Is facial hair going to add or subtract from his sex appeal? :Shrug:

Oh yea, I think a neatly trimmed Goatee is totally sexy. Go for it. Mustache's on the other hand, no no for me. Ick.

I love my men clean shaven, but on the right person, a 5 o'clock shadow is damn sexy.

Full beards/goatees just don't do it for me, but I'm pretty sure opinions vary quite a bit.

Oh, and I'm 24.

Hmmm...I'm 21 and I don't like facial hair a lot on guys but a constant 5 o'clock shadow is sexy as hell (my ex-boyfriend had the five o'clock shadow and I loved it). Just my two cents.

I just made my husband grow a moustache and goatee or chin beard or whatever it's called. It looks great on him. Very... swashbuckling!

But then, he's adorable when clean shaven. So either way.

My husband is forbidden to shave his goatee off, but he has to keep it neatly trimmed. No one wants the ZZ Top beard waving around in the breeze.

So far I think most of my male MCs have had facial hair. In my current WIP one has a moustache (he's got a graying ponytail, too!), and the hero MC always seems to have a few days' growth.

First male MC had a neatly trimmed beard, the second grew a beard after he was, well, disfigured (it hid the scar...)

Since I'm not personally fond of the cleanshaven look, I write characters I like.

A goatee to me adds either a sense of being a professor OR somebody a bit more sinister.

I wanted to be different, so the hero of my romantic fantasy has a beard. Although I usually find clean-shaven men more attractive, the beard fits my hero. Not only is he naturally hairy, but this way, the heroine doesn't have to worry about stubble burn.

I'm 31.

Facial hair looks good on some men and terrible on others. You'll get varying answers on what we find attractive, but the better question is: What does your heroine find attractive?

Yeah. I agree with this.

I believe that men should shave. However, charisma and personality are much more attractive than looks to me. I tend to be flexible in the latter category, but a stickler for the former.

I'm 16.

Anything can be sexy on the right person. It's not facial hair, or lack thereof, that makes a man sexy. That said, I prefer either clean shaven or very short and tidy goatee. I'm hjmsnjdkhsn years old.

IMHO....it goes with the territory. What ethnic background the characters are.
Roman dark looks appeal more to me with clean faces or shadow.
I am Italian and nothing spools dark good looks like facial hair!
