Hi all, I was Wailing Bainsidhe at the other forum. I don't post much, mostly lurk. I go by Mags everywhere else on the web, so I thought I would use that name here as well.

Um, about my writing: I have a short story published, an essay was published in an anthology, and I'm working in fits and spurts on a mystery and trying to get in the habit of the BIC program recommended by Uncle Jim. :) I mostly write historical fiction but have some modern-set things that I've written and don't know what to do with, as they are not "literary" and are not really right for magazines that actually publish short stories.

I think that's it for now! I'm going to slide back into lurking if it's okay with everyone, at least until I have something interesting to tell.

Oh, and congrats to Jenna and the Mod Squad on the new forum! It's lovely. Very classy. I run a couple of forums (fora?) myself and I know what a job it is to move to new software. You're doing a great job.

Thanks!

Thanks, Mags! Glad you told us about the name change. I do like to keep track of people, especially so I don't worry that we left anyone behind!

What anthology was your essay in?

It was a tiny little anthology called Number One Fan, put out by a tiny little publisher. Here is the Web site for the book. My essay is called "A Thoroughly Modern Janeite." The book got a couple of interesting reviews (I found one in Italian) and the reviewers seem to find me and my essay scary or curious. I guess people don't think of Jane Austen fans like Buffy or Harry Potter fans, but we're just as weird and obsessive. ;)

Welcome

Hi Mags!

I'm a Janeite, too -- I'm with you all the way! I'd love to read your essay. Nice to know there are other Jane Austen fans out there. :Sun:

Your old name was so cool, though. *sigh*
But Mags it is. Hope to see you around more!
