Any fans here? I have a sickness that compels me to watch an episode every night before bed. I'm not complaining, though...

My name is Bender, baby, please insert liquor!

A quick search on "Futurama returns" lists a bunch of articles about 13 new episodes being commissioned by Comedy Central. Truth? Rumour? My "I  Leela" panties are well and truly bunched in anticipation.

At Comic-Con 2007 it was announced that Futurama will return on November 27th as a full-length DVD release called Futurama: Bender's Big Score, which will be followed by three additional films: The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and The Wild Green Yonder. After their release, each film will be divided into four episodes and air on Comedy Central.[3]
:hooray:

Or should I say:

I had heard something about a movie, but didn't know the details. Yippee!

The ending of the one about Fry's brother and the seven leaf clover pulls on the ol' heartstrings too.

As does the one when Leela first finds her parents.

More episodes? Brilliant! We have all the existing ones on DVD and go on binges now and then, watching a couple at dinnertime each day. Bender and Zap Brannigan are my faves - the Zap heavy episodes have me roaring with laughter every time.

Well, I think the colonies get in on the 24th.

We over here have to wait till the 30th :(

LOL,

Do Brits still refer to the US as the Colonies? That is hilarious.

God, you have to love futurama. I never watched it until recently and have years worth of unwatched futurama just waiting for me.

Can't wait to dive in.

I used to watch Futurama as part of the Sunday evening cartoon lineup of Futurama, King of the Hill, and Simpsons.

Eventually Futurama, as much as I enjoyed it, started recycling movie plots to use as their stories. I didn't care for that, so I stopped watching it.

Sometime after, it was cancelled.

Now I watch it whenever I can on Comedy Central, or whoever's showing it. In spite of those recycled plots, I love the show.

Sky will be showing 16 new episodes from Sunday 26th October in the UK. They are referring to it as Season 6 -- I'm guessing these are the episodes that comprise Bender's Big Score and The Beast with a Billion Backs. I'm wondering if that sounds like 16 episodes' worth, to anyone who has seen those DVDs? I thought maybe they would only come to 8 episodes, which might mean they are going to show Bender's Game and Into the Wild Green Yonder, as well. In which case, woo hoo!

I reeeeeeeeeeeally enjoyed Bender's Big Break and the Beast with a billion backs.

Even if parts of BWABB reminded my of a form of popular Japanese animation that will go unnamed lest the children read this post and start asking their parents about tentacles.
