I wanted to like it. It's a great premise. But there's just something about the protagonist that rubbed me the wrong way. Just an ick factor.

It didn't work for me.

I don't think it will last.

(Of course, the shows I DO like don't often last, either, so no surprise either way. <G>)

Is it because he is ginger?:)

I thought it was excellent, and I really rate Damien Lewis. (Well, it'll be a long time before I forgive him for 'Dreamcatcher', but otherwise, no complaints).

Pity I'm going back to the UK before the next episode. :Shrug:Right, you lot, keep watching it, cos if you let it get cancelled, I'm going to be very cross.

I am DVRing every episode. I liked it, there's just something about the plot with in the plot, that got me. Who framed him? That's what I can't wait to find out!
I thought he did an excellent job in Dreamcatcher....very creepy!

Nah, I don't mind a redhead. :)

I understand the dude has been affected by his time inside, but something about the particular mannerisms they were using for him just didn't work for me. <shrug>

I need to watch another episode before I decide. I love Damien Lewis (shout-out for fellow "Band of Brothers" alumnus Michael Cudlitz as the murdered kid's dad). I like Adam Arkin and Brooke Langton.

But here's what I don't get: why do they always put the troubled male cop with a brassy, female partner? Grrrr....Imaginations, people!

Actually the heat seemed to be coming from the lawyer's direction. Dunno, we'll see. Well, we'll see if they don't get cancelled within the next few episodes. I'm with Chaos, I love Damien Lewis, but I'm not too sure about the show itself.

I will be giving it one or two more shots, however.

I was a big fan of Damien Lewis from "Band of Brothers" the HBO mini series. He was terrific in that. I enjoyed Life, too. It was clean and tight; well put together with an interesting cast of supporting characters. I hope it makes it.

I liked his character's crazy quirks.

And the freaky way he is always devouring fruit. LOL
That was a little weird for me.

I was theorizing to my hubby that maybe they don't often get good fresh fruit in prison? <shrug>

I didn't mind that quirk so much, as I could see a possible rationale for it. <G>

Yes, I hate unnecesary 'quirkoid' thingies, too ("Hey, look at me, I only wear one contact lens - that's character depth, right? Right?") but I can see the point of this one. Though probably if you don't get your five fruit and veg in prison, you can sue for millions...

There's a get-rich quick scheme right there: get sent to jail but have a guy on the inside who doesn't give you your fruit...then sue and come away with at least 30 million....maybe ten times that if you manage to get scurvy.

It's probably happening dozens of times a day but you have to be on the no fruit list to know about it.

Boo-hoo, exiled back to the UK, so haven't seen any more of this rather promising show. Go on, spoiler me. Now it's into its third epi, what do you all think? A keeper?

I am a fan.

And FWIW, I think the fruit is less about "fruit" and mroe about him realizing he needs to take advantage of his second shot. Some of the fruits he's eating are a little out there. But then he has obviously done a great deal of reading inside, and is trying to get on the buddhist thing (which is a great way to deal with the injustice he felt inside, as a basic idea is that life is suffering) hense his trying to convince himself that he is NOT attached to his fancy new car.

My opinion (which is worth exactly what you paid for it) is that this is actually a very tight character and given a chance, we'll see this. I don;t think there is much of anything there as a gimmick characterisation. It's a guy whi needs to know what happened to his life, wants revenge for what was done to him, but is also trying to not be the kind of person he seems to have been before he was put in prison.
