As I sit at my desk, ignoring my office work, browsing AWWC, and contemplating life, I am struck by the realization that you guys (((inspire))) me. You may get discouraged, depressed, dejected, yet you still press on - with enthusiasm to boot! I love reading about your plans, your acceptances, and even your rejections. The point is, you're making moves with your work. And I admire you to the fullest.

Although I finally landed a book deal, I feel myself (and my muse) slowing down; I'm not as excited about writing as I used to be. My advance wasn't what I expected, so I feel a bit apprehensive about putting my heart, soul, and sweat into another project. Sounds ungrateful, I know. But blame it on that first six-figure-advance author.

HOWEVER, when I enter this pristine site filled with ambition and hope, I come to my senses, return to my keyboard, and write absolutely! In short, you're all stars in my book. And I just want to thank you. :Hug2:

You guys are so funny!

Okay, okay, I'm still in the planning stage. Haven't written a syllable of fiction. *ducking*

HOWEVER, I'm browsing this site. It's giving me energy, I swear! :)

Why do they always duck?

PeeDee no! Put that puppy down. You can't throw it at her.

Sorry. *grin* crossing threads here.

Remember that an advance is only HALF of the game. If the book does well, you'll simply get the rest of what you expected at the back end in a few months. Chin up, and keep being inspired! :D

I hear you Jennifer. But it's just something about the way you (as a whole) share your stories, your progress, your triumphs...it just gets to me. It makes me feel like I need to put my head down and get to work without whining, ya know?

I don't want it to wash off, auntybug. I want it to seep into my pores and writing soul...I'm getting cornier by the minute. :(

I'm not entirely sure if we're non-toxic, edible, or machine-washable. So I'd be careful there. :D

Careful. We do stain. (well, PeeDee does anyway.)

And yes, he shamed me into going and writing something. So sad puppies do work.

Let's please keep this discussion at least remotely on track--someone say something about writing now, quick.
