how long must I wait?

Hi All,

I have a very reputable agent who loves my book and put it out to publishers last month. Agent tells me that it could take several weeks or even several months for publishers to reply. Is there any rule of thumb for how long you have to usually wait? I don't doubt my agent, just anxious to get some pblisher feedback. Thanks,

If you're going to be in this game for the long haul, you need to adapt to the hurry-up-and-wait aspect of the business. It's simply a fact of publishing life.

Your agent is right - several weeks to several months about covers it. Don't worry, s/he'll get back to you as soon as there's news.
