Cookies? I didn't know that we had to bribe people with cookies. Puts plates of cookies by his poems.
Cookies are little files that websites put on your PC. They are used to manage login identity, maintain statistics, track where you've been, report all those naughty sites you visit to your parents and your boss, steal your identity, drill into your brain and make you buy stuff you don't need at the mall, and other similar stuff.
But many sites, such as AW require you accept cookies in order for all their features to work, and also as a sign of your abject submission and willingness to prostrate yourself before the great god of the web.
No biggie. Many browsers can be set to accept cookies and then automatically delete them at the end of every session. Or you can delete them manually (and you
should) (there's also software out there that keeps cookies but alters them to screw up or distort (or as we sw engineers say, "have fun with") cookies-based web schemes.
BTW - many people don't know that Flash-based websites have their own kind of "cookies' called "Local Shared Objects" (sometimes called "flash cookies"). These can be deleted through the flash player or by clearing the directory they go in if you can find it.
