With the new season starting this past week or soon enough, is anyone anticipating the beginning of any new shows?

I was intrigued by the idea of Journeyman, but even with Tivo I'll never catch it. I don't watch network TV during the summer, and even then I msotly ff through all ads so I miss most previews and I don't care to scour the listings.

I just caught up to The Office and Weeds on DVD - going the same route with Heroes. Some of these shows really lend themselves to quick viewing over a saturday afternoon. Without Rome or Deadwood, I can't justify HBO only for Entourage, so that's now on the DVD list too.

Cheering you all on!
I'm anticipating a new series to be cancelled. It may be brilliant, but I want it cancelled. Early.

Lots of urban fantasy shows coming out this year, thanks to Heroes. Hopefully, some will be good.

Private Practice -- Just because I still love Tim Daly. Since ABC didn't see fit to let "The Nine" live, this will have to do.

Life -- Damien Lewis. Exonerated cop back on the job, with millions in his pockets. Sounds interesting. Great leading man.

Pushing Daisies -- This one is getting all of the big buzz, and the idea intrigues me. Gotta give it shot.

I don't even know what new shows are coming, nor does it make much of a difference, unfortunately. Thanks to my night shifts I miss all the good prime time shows, so I just watch lots and lots of CSI reruns.

Anything interesting starting up on Monday or Tuesday nights?

I saw the trailer of Pushing Daisies. It's like if someone have made a movie out of The Big Fish

Moonlight, maybe. Although I seriously doubt it could hold a smidgen of a candle to Forever Knight. [Geraint Wyn Davies *sigh*]

THAT'S what it was called. That title, or the not knowing of it has been bugging me for weeks. Blood Ties is another vampire detective show. Second time around I managed to watch just over an hour of it. So not good. But I give them kudos for one thing. They dont seem to be pretending to be somewhere other than Toronto.

Or Angel. ;)

Someone mentioned cancellations
which renewed my hatred at The Black Donnellys being cancelled T_T

It's available on DVD! :hooray:

I'm going to give Private Practice a shot. I like Kate Walsh and I liked the preview of it last season...might not be too bad.

I thought about watching Moonlight too but I'm afraid I'll just compare it to Forever Knight and be horribly disappointed.

Looking forward to Survivor: China, Grey's Anatomy and Lost to start though. I don't think Lost starts until like January or so.

CSI: Miami is my new show that I'm watching. I think I'm going to have to get on DVD. It's messing with my sleep. I work nights and I come home and should go to bed but CSI is on and I just can't help myself.

Horatio is irresistable.

Blockbuster is giving free NBC discs for fall previews. We just watched the pilot for Chuck. It was pretty good. It's directed by McG who did the Charlie's Angels. Also on the disc is a preview for Bionic Woman and the pilots for Journeyman and Life.

I'm looking forward to The Office, Entrourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and...I think that's it.

Sorry but this show really annoys me. I think it's awful. I flick to any other channel whenever it's on, which unfortunately tends to be often. David Caruso makes Keanu Reeves appear like Marlon Brando

Also hoping to catch Journeyman, but Mondays will be tough indeed. Can't wait for Prison Break to return, even though I must bid adieu to The 4400. I don't watch much new. Not even SVU episodes. I generally wait until a show is obscure and dead before I tune in. Every series I end up liking is always in danger of cancellation. The Magnificent Seven, Enterprise. Oh well.

I am not waiting for anything. In fact, I hate waiting. I hate waiting through summer and I hate waiting a week to see how the cliffhanger ended. So I have a different strategy. We don't get TV. Instead we get Netflix. We don't watch anything until it's been on for at least a year and everyone raves about it.

So currently we're gorging on the entire first season of Heroes. Before that it was Monk and before that it was House.

I find it's just way more satisfying to have it all in one big chunk, and to be able to watch it whenever I want. It's like getting the whole book as opposed to a chapter a week with occasional reruns.
