Hi everyone,
I have a question concerning names and places, specifically in an older work I want to re-work.
As many of you know, I wrote a book that PublishAmerica got a hold of back in 2003, which I had entitled Wyverinia Chronicle (they added an 's' to the end, but that was not my original intent). I have been told a lot about the names being too difficult to pronounce by writers and readers alike for years. But here's my dilemma: I want to re-write it one last time, and submit it. I know I can do this if I stick to the original idea and premise while changing my writing style and taking out the vast majority of my cliches. But at the same time, I wonder if changing the names is ethical, seeing the work will probably be the same piece overall, in story and in characterizations, as the original.
Would it behoove me to change the names to make them more pronouncable, or should I keep them the same since the book will likely be the same exact story?
I look forward to your answers, and I hope to hear from you all as quickly as possible so I can get to work on my project. Thanks.
