In another thread someone suggested that the low discussion traffic in Poetry is exacerbated by having two separate discussion forums - this one and "Poetry Discussion" which divides what little traffic there is.

I seconded it but we're in the future where Robots Rules of Order don't apply (http://www.boo.net/%7Erarnold/firesign/sounds/robots.wav), so what is the right way to advance this idea?

Do we make a petition to the AW gods? What's the process? Does it involve any animal sacrifices? (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6979292.stm) How about frolicking half-naked nubile young maidens? (http://pnart.com/navimg/ac35sm.jpg) This high tech stuff always confuses me (and I say this as a professional software engineer). My last engineering manager, just before he quit, pulled me over and whispered, "Peter, computers are the work of the devil!" Last I heard he trains rescue dogs.

I have better ones but I didn't want to get my post censored. See my website.;)

The moderator of this forum is on vacation until sunday, and has been all week, so he hasn't even seen my first, let alone your second. Hold your horses, take a chill pill and relax. Let's wait and see what he thinks.

...You mean there's still a chance I might get my post censored for lascivious content after he returns?:)

Doubtful. You're entirely too nice.

We already asked and answered this question in a recent poll (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70806). I take your point, but the vote's been taken, and the group consensus was that the structure should stay this way.

I'd be interested to hear how having a Discussion sub-forum - as a sub-forum of the main poetry forum - dilutes traffic. Any updates in either board show up on New Posts.

How 'bout joining in those discussions and kicking them onto New Posts again? If none of us posts on them, it doesn't matter what board they're on.

I go into Poetry Discussion everyday and when I see a conversation of something that interests me, I read it and if I think I have something to say on the subject, I do.

I look there everyday.
