Debbie is a meta-human in a world where Joseph McCarthy became president. She dies in the first few pages of my WIP, but she gets better. She found the perfect guy for her, another mutant. He's a precog (sensing danger), and she can find anything, together you would think they could elude a government that fears and hunts down meta-humans... Their main weakness is they are overconfident teens with little experience with maniacal government agencies.

She is a silly gal who finds herself thrust in a position of making hard, grown-up choices.

Weaknesses: hates drama and being the center of attention; tends to apply the ignore-it-and-it'll-go-away theory to all matters of the heart; and would rather eat her boots than ask for help. No tact to speak of. Also, she's a bit ticklish, which is sometimes extremely inconvenient.

I have to say, though, that even though Kerry is the most martial of my recent characters, this template doesn't fit her perfectly. Weapons, for instance---weapons aren't a part of her identity, they're tools. And it leaves out a whole lot of who she is and how she thinks. What about religion, for instance? Family situation? Relationships or lack thereof?

I understand that templates are very useful to some people (I tend not to use them) but I'm afraid I don't really believe in this one.

I was thinking it more along the lines of the male "how big's yours?" sort of conversation.

I agree that it's not useful, just fun to see what other people are thinking and writing. My little template says very little about my MC.

Edit: I was made rather curious about some guy's unposted diatribe. About heroines? So if he didn't post it, why post that he wasn't posting it? And what's diatribe-able about describing one's female MC? *shrug*

Sorry, that was my reaction to another posters snide comment about how the use of the word "heroine" was going to get NSA to monitor this forum.

As if they don't have enough work to do or any interest in a writers' forum.

Just one of those hot buttons for me. However, I deleted the long diatribe since it didn't belong here.
