...on brainstorming my first novel in a notebook. I've had story ideas for years, and only today did I actually start in organizing ideas for my first novel in my notebook. I've started a crude outline of the story, and I've now covered the events of the story that so far span about the first 16 chapters. Anyway, the only reason I'm posting this is because I finally have the time and the inclination to actually get started. And I must admit. Even with starting only today, I really feel the creative juices flowing. :D

Congrats on getting back in the saddle! :D

I seem to have enough creative juice at the moment for myself, but if I get low, I'll be sure to come here first! ;)

I drank up all my creative juice. I was worried it would expire, and now I'm out. WannaBe, congrats on getting started and if you have any extra juice, please share! :)

Creative juice comes from within, not sold at your local grocery store. But to get it is simple. Just go to the bookstore, look at how your favorite authors have their books displayed, then imagine your own book in the same store. Think about how your story will be better than anyone else's. Things like that are inspiring.

Actually, it is sold at most pharmacies. ;)

I'll explain, this is a joke between a friend of mine and myself. One night I was really tired and needed to stay up all night for work. Those energy drinks put me to sleep. It seems I sugar crash in an hour and I get even more tired.

I tried a vitamin shot called 5 hour energy. It has no sugar and claims that you won't crash. Your energy tapers off normally.

ZOOOOOOMMM!

Not only did I stay up all night, I wrote 1800 words that I really thought contributed to the story.

We joke about it being "writer's crack" now. :D

Everyone else calls my "writer's crack" just "crack."

I get it from a guy on a street corner who is, I can only assume, a poet or something.

Do you do yours off a mirror too?

Writer's crack comes in shot form, I believe.

On the road they call them "rock shots".

Usually it's a combo of antibiotics, B-12, and other vitamins.... a must have when you hang out with roadies 24/7

Now at this point, I got three-fifths of the story outlined. Now I just have to figure out the methods of twisting and surprising I can use to make the climax a memorable one. :D
