Everything's stolen and inspired! There I said it. Now for the long and meandering part of my post...
So there I was, minding my own business. Watching some videos on youtube. So I spy with my little eye Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of "Little Wing" the Fender Promo vid. All is fine and dandy. Right with the world. Listening to a Hendrix song is you know, a religious experience. Makes you feel in tune with the universe. Yeah.
Listening to a Hendrix song played by Stevie Ray Vaughan(or to be honest anyone who plays with that much skill and soul), is equally moving(for me).
But why did I have to scroll down? Whiny little piss-ants complaining about it not being original(uh hello? cover version? not supposed to be original song just personal take right?)
So it happens over and over again, regardless of the musician or song.
Now I'm miffed. People saying stupid crap about "Steve Vai's not fit to carry Joe Satrianni's guitar pick"(well, I rephrased it and made it sound nicer); and vice versa. Just take any two guitarists(or even singers, I don't care what anyone says, love her or hate her that little Christina Aguilera has a set of pipes on her), and the insults start flying...
Okay so I feel better. A bit random. Ended the rant poorly. But yeah. I feel better. Long story short. E-mail me when you see something truly original. Then I'll e-mail you back with whatever it was that inspired the truly original thing you e-mailed me. This could go on for years...
