okay the application is 22 pages, and has some really bizarre questions.

this seems more like a reality show, and less the sports competition show i grew up loving.

hmph

Some VERY weird questions in the application form:

Application Question #12: What pets do you own now, or have owned at any time in the past? (Why do they need to know this?)
Application Question #40: Can you swim? If not, explain: (hmmm... explain what exactly? how i cannot swim?)
Application Question #42: In the lines below, write a short poem or rap
Application Question #43: In the box below, draw a picture of yourself

I don't know about the drawing or poetry part but the pets thing could be so they have something to say about you during the introduction or something.

John Doe is 30 and has trained for the pugil bout by wrestling her three cats Nitro is going to have a tough time beating him.

Is it like the old show, or have our demands for sports, violence, and reality TV finally converged into games to the death?

Either one is good for me.

I once arm-wrestled Nitro. I was about 11 years old. For my best friend's birthday he brought about five of us to the Baltimore Arena for a taping of American Gladiators and somehow his parents worked it out so Nitro and Tower would come over and wish him a happy birthday. I started talking smack to Nitro, and soon we were locking wrists, a la Stallone in Over the Top. He let me win.

Nice guy, nice guy.
