I need to find a reference book that will give me an exhaustive listing of all the chakras and what they do as well as all the possible colors of a person's aura and what they mean.

I can't think of one book... too bad there aren't as many "New age" shops as there used to be. Look on Amazon.com.

Betty Bethards wrote a series of books you find pertinent. I went through one of her courses. I know she has since passed away but she had a tremendous amount of knowledge on the subject and had a very down to earth way of saying it. As I understand it with auras, different people see different colours, so there's no one set of fixed meanings - which means you can make up your own for the purposes of fiction!

as these topics are still controversial, not sure i would limit myself to a single book. for instance, although it is generally accepted that the human body has 7 chakras, various teachings give the number as 4 to 13... with major and minor chakras.

same for auras -- you will notice that colour interpretation varies somewhat. try some of these links and hopefully you can formulate your own platform... good luck
