Have you ever walked out of a movie?

I am talking about at the cinema/theater.

There was one movie that was so bad i walked out half way through. It stared the guy who played Robo Cop. It was dire. AND i mean dreadful.
AND for those kinds souls who rush to find out the name of the movie -Don't bother. I want to erase that part of my life.

There was another "Wired" which i endured because i keep on hoping it would get better. It's gonna get better! It's gonna get better! it's gonna - Oh it's finished and never did get better.

No I haven't, nor out of any plays though I have seen some that have been truly dire. I think for me it's a bit like watching a car crash. I have stopped movies that I rented at home though.

ETA: I lie. If a movie turns out to be way scarier than I had thought it would be, I have. I'm just unfortunately not good with the scary (and it really pisses me off because there are some truly brilliant scary movies out there I can't see). But I thought your question was more about a bad movie, and not one that I just couldn't handle.

I rented LotR - the first fillum - and stopped it an hour in, before falling asleep. Jeez. I'll never get that time (or £1:50) back.

When I was in college, they showed a double feature for Halloween: It CameFrom Outer Space followed by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original). We made it through the first movie, but my roommate and I ran, at top speed, out of the auditorium about twenty minutes in to the Massacre.

Does that count?

The Mod Squad, starring Claire Danes (I think) and the guy who was Phoebe's brother on Friends.

Also, the Avengers, with Uma Thurman. But the tickets for that one were free, so I was only out $5 for popcorn.

I walked out on the Bourne Identity after about 20 minutes. We were sitting way up front and I almost puked from the camera motion.

If I could go back in time and tell myself to walk out of a movie, it definitely would have been "A History of Violence", but it was a date night and my wife and I forced ourselves to sit through it, hoping it would get better. Worst movie ever.

I've only walked out of a movie theater in the middle of one movie. And I didn't even hate the movie, but the guy (the boyfriend) with me, broke up with me sometime between dinner and popcorn with some awkward conversation in the car, and I have no idea why we went ahead to see it.
Finally I just said, "Ok, I'm done. It's time to go." I wasn't watching it anyway, I was sitting there feeling like a humiliated lump feeling my face growing redder and redder as I sat there silently knowing what he'd just done and really letting it sink in.

When the movie came out on video, I rented it.

As a rule, I'll sit through any film once. And when I tell you that I watched Day of the Dead 2: Contagium start to finish, you'll know how seriously I follow that principle.

But, I Did walk out of Garfield 2. But I should point out that, largely, it wasn't the film itself, but it was the saturday morning showing. So the cinema was full of young kids. That's enough to make me walk.

My mom told me her landlord lent her Kill Bill. She said, and I quote: "It was really gross. All that blood. Blood everywhere! It was fantastic!"

Taratino is definitely an acquired taste. I look beyond the gore and revel in the quirkiness of it all.

Oh, I forgot... I walked out on "The Treasure of the Three Crowns" a 3-D movie that was so bad we rented the VHS many years later to see what the hell we missed.

I don't see movies in the theater anymore with the exception of LOTR and the Harry Potter films. I gave up.

Tho' to be truthful it was my other half's choice. Helen Mirren had just given birth to a daughter instead of a son (in a mildly disturbing birth scene... some bizarre minds at work here) and OH didn't want to stick around to see what Malcolm McDowell would do to the baby. Mind you, by then we were the only couple left in the movie theater, everyone else had ejected long before that point.

I did fall asleep once. For The Jimmy Neutron Movie. Altho my mom-reflex kicked in a few moments later, with the subconscious thinking: Wake, up, idiot! You're leaving your kids essentially alone in public! The kids thought it was really funny.

Maybe I'm a sucker for a terrific ensemble cast, but that's one of my top ten films. Wow.

Agreed. Reservoir Dogs is another of my top ten films. Yet again, terrific ensemble, quirky dialogue, cool story.

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. The fifth sequel. I never saw it in 3-D (thank God), but the scene where the kid was pouncing around like a pogo stick was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Personally, I don't go to the theater very often (2-5 times a year), so my film choices are extremely deliberate. The only two films I distinctly remember wanting to walk out on (but I'd paid my money, and was determined to see them through) were The Thin Red Line and Eyes Wide Shut.
