Not sure where to post this, but I figured this was a good place.
There's an upcoming writers conference in my area that I'm interested in attending. I checked out their site for more info, but found typos and other grammatical errors on it. (I wear both the editor's and writer's hats.) While seeing such things usually has me seeing red, in the 'net universe I can usually ignore them to a degree, but on a site geared towards writers, not so much.
So, is it my professional/ethical duty to inform the site's owner of what I noticed (in a kind way, of course), and still go, hoping that the person won't be ticked off and blacklist me? Or do I consider it a "red flag" and not go, but still tell the site owner about what I've noticed. Or, given that it would be my first writers conference and probably a good networking opportunity, go anyway (and not tell them about the site issues)?

Another question that I'm grappling with: Should it be "writers conference" (as I've written) or "writer's conference"? To me, the apostrophe-s says that it's a conference owned by a writer (and is how it appears on their site), but the other way says that it's a conference for/with/about writers (the group as a whole). I suppose if they have to use the apostrophe, shouldn't it then be writers' conference?
