Not to mention I can't believe I'm making a thread.

My WIP begins with the MC as an eighteen year old. It's going to end with her around like thirty five.

Knowing how you write, I'd say sure. But it's not set in stone, if you'd rather shop it up instead.

When I was fourteen, I queried a children's publisher about a ms and he asked for a partial and a synopsis. He wrote back and said, "This is good, but it's really more of an adult than a children's, so I'm going to have to pass."

I laughed myself silly. He didn't know I was a kid.

Write the story and you'll probably be able to figure it out as you are writing it. Here's some TUMS for that heartburn.

Why not? Although a couple of questions come to mind.
1. How long is the book?
2.How long do you plan on spending developing the story around each age?
3. Do you think doing this will make the plot too intricate so as to leave more room for underdeveloped plotlines and or inconsistencies with how the "personality" of your maturing character reacts to certian situations?

1--not sure, my MS's tend to be...very short, but this spans a lot of time so I'm hoping for MAYBE 50,000 words. For YA that's fine.

2--I'm going to try and spend an even amount of time on each age. Maybe a little heavy on her younger years because I need to set up her character for how she's going to change.

3--Don't think so...and I'm going to work hard to make sure I don't miss character development stuff, because that's key to the whole thing, and I'll have my eye on how she changes.
