This show is coming on again, and I've started to catch a few episodes. It was one of my favorites while I was growing up, because Kevin and I were about the same age. However, the last season, I got a job and didn't really get to watch it all that much. So, watching the show again, I found myself wondering how it ended.

I know the dad died, but my husband said the mom died, too, about two years later. Did Kevin wind up married to Winnie? If not, who did he marry? If anyone can give me a heads up on this, I'd really appreciate it.

I loved that show too. But I didn't know anything about either parent dying, so I guess I stopped watching before that.
The actor who played the older brother is working with Scott Baio now on some new reality show.

Your question brought back memories! I used to love that show. I didn't remember the mom dying so i checked. Here's the wrap-up of the last episode:

The final two-part episode (“Summer”/“Independence Day”) aired on May 12th, 1993. It involved Kevin and his father having a major falling out, while Kevin and Winnie began reassessing their relationship. The last few minutes of the episode wrapped up the futures of all the main characters through Stern’s narration: Kevin moved on with his life; Paul studied law at Harvard; Kevin’s mom became a businesswoman and “cooker of mashed potatoes”; Kevin’s dad died of a heart attack two years later and Wayne took over the family furniture business; Karen married and had a baby. As for Kevin and Winnie--well, Winnie went to France to study art history; she and Kevin kept in touch for the next eight years. When Winnie returned to the USA, she and Kevin reunited--with Kevin’s wife and eight-month-old son in tow.

We didn't find out who he married... we just knew that he and Winnie remained friends as they went their separate ways...

Thanks everyone. Meggy, it comes on the ION channel. I don't know if you can get it with the other providers or not but it's on DirecTV.

SUCH a good show. It was a must-watch for me and my family when it originally aired, and then I watched the series again when it re-ran on Nick at Nite.

It's going to be tough for it to ever be released on DVD, what with all the music licensing and / or changing that would have to be done. *sob*

I saw the last episode... he talks about the future. All I remember for sure is that he does not marry winnie. I wept.

I loved it when it came on, but I didn't appreciate it for the writing. Now, I'm just amazed at the writing for the show. It's wonderful.

You're thinking of Good Times. James died but Florida lived. Don't feel bad, I confuse those shows all the time.

Kevin (AKA Fred Savage) grew up to direct Daddy Day Camp, driving one more nail into the coffin of Cuba Gooding Jr's career.

And Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) writes books to get girls excited about math.

Yeah I saw an article about that. GOod for her I say. My fave episode was when Kevin wanted to break up with a girl, I can't remember her name, she was blonde. He said he wanted to be friends and she punches him. Brilliant.
