Heh, I may just be worrying about nothing here, but I'd like to be sure it's nothing before I go off and decide it's nothing...now I'm rambling...okay, see, I normally write YA Fantasy, but I got an idea for a regular YA and I'm in the process of writing it. My question is, when it's done, should I bother querying it? Will an agent even consider it, if they know that this might be my only non-fantasy YA? (I'm not saying I'll never write another one, but I do plan on building a career and carving out a niche in the fantasy section so....)

I think you should try to sell it. I don't pay a lot of attention to YA agent guidelines, but I am sure there a several (or many!) who rep both regular and fantasy YA. Selling a regular one should not preclude you from having a fan-tab-ulous fantasy writing career (that is, career writing fantasy, not a made-up careeer).

Good luck!!

All YA is housed in the same section of a bookstore, whether fantasy or straight teen angst.

Thanks so much guys. That makes me feel so much better, because I really like this new story and want to run with it, but I didn't want it to hurt my career plans. *phew* I'm glad it won't.
