Another Adams Media Question

I recently finished an Everything book for Adams Media (out in Sept). It was a flat fee and I got the job through an agent (she had asked for queries and I submitted). Adams has asked me to write another book. After submittal of a TOC and sample chapter there will be contract negotiations. I'm hesitant to go it alone (overwhelmed is more like it), but I don't particularly want to use the agent I used before.

Have any of you ever negotiated either with Adams or another publisher on your own?
