My mc needs a kiss...

A kiss from her hubby. They're sitting in an outdoor cafe. Hot sticky night, she spots the Gelato cafe across the road. He reads her mind, tells her to wait til after dinner and they'll grab some to take home, he'll serve her in bed...

This sets the mood for the 'kiss'. I'm thinking he takes her hand pulls her in and gives her a tender sweet kiss or should that be an urgent type kiss--?

Hmm, I don't need someone playing hockey with my tonsils out in public... I'll just use the sweet one. :D

So what makes a kiss unique...lets hear, err feel your favorite kisses.

Unless you fly over here you're not going to to feel anything...;)
:tongue
I'm going to give my mc just a palate teaser, the spoonful of Sorbet before the big piece of gooey death by chocolate dessert. :D

Kimmi...what the heck happened to your avatar? You need to STOP kissing that kitty before it drowns!

My favorite kiss is the upside down kiss from Spiderman. It's a pretty hard thing to duplicate in writing. I've had characters lean over the back of their love's recliner for that kind of kiss...

A lingering, passionate gaze deep into her eyes before the kiss commences--slowly, ever so slowly.

Okay, only like .0001% of you are going to know this reference, but my favorite kiss EVER is from (teenageralertteenageralert) Degrassi, the season 2 finale. Sean and Emma are dancing at her Mom's wedding and they kiss for the first time. And it's beautiful. They just kind of float together, and it happens. No one planning, no one initiating...and it's sweet and light and they drift away again, and they put their foreheads together, staring at each other's lips.....so nice.

The one at the end of Hairspray was quite nice as well.

Ooh... kisses. my favorite! (and least favorite to describe, coincidentally) It makes me melt when my fiance gives me tender kisses in public. I love when he strokes my hair a little bit, and slips just a bit of tongue (sorry if that's tmi, but as we are going for descriptive here!)

Besides that, it's all about the softness of the lips, the pressure in the kiss, the timing (is it unexpected?) All that good stuff :)

Missing Writer??? May flights of angels carry you
The only kisses I ever get at the wet, slobbery ones from the mutts (I have teenage boys -- the never kiss their mother--ewwww!!) **sigh**
He could start gently and playfully on the tip of her nose and work his way down, while running his fingers of one hand through her hair and allowing his other hand to drop down to caress her delicate, sensual .....
excuse me -- gotta run!!!!

Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

Something about that gazing into the eyes thing that makes me go weak in the knees.

Dreams reigning--all good :)

Shady this is sweet--moving: I like it very much.
Something like: He pulled her in. Gave her a slow tender kiss. Then they parted slightly and rested their foreheads together.

I'm not sure about staring at the lips--that close, I don't know--let me go find hubby and try it :)

The kisses I like best are when we're passing by in the house and come together for a hug with his arms around my waist. I could use those more often :) The kiss makes the closeness complete, no matter how short--since we usually have one or both kids demanding our attention, or laundry, or housework...always something. For a moment it's just us, as it was before we had kids, or cats. You need those interludes to remind each other who'se number one in each others' lives.

The slow motion of coming together as if time stopped for the two of you to get acquainted. Eyes lock, faces within inches of touching, his heat on your face makes your mouth water. Prep and quicken his breathing by wetting your lips, move in and close your eyes as you apply enough pressure to feel the fullness of his lips. Open your eyes look deep into his and move back just enough to trace his lips with your tongue. When you see his lips swell from the heat and moisture, you lightly nip at the lower lip then press against them again with your mouth slightly parted.

I’m assuming this is how you kiss. :D

Javier clutched her tiny waist and scooted her chair across the terracotta floor. With another hand he toyed her expensive earrings. He puckered his ruby lips and closed his eyes, then kissed her like a man. She licked the sweet carbonara sauce from his lips and whispered in his ear, "Forget the gelato, Javier. Let's go."

(Sorry, I couldn't help myself) ;)

It's really weird to me how few people -- actually, I think nobody -- cited a kiss from a book.

What's the best-written kiss you recall?

IMHO, Gone With The Wind has some amazing kissing scenes, and not just the ones with Rhett; Scarlett generates heat with Ashley, too. I also found the "retold" kiss in Persuasion, Ash's veiled reference to his first kiss with Christabel in his letter, to be incredibly romantic.

Some personalized demiplane
The only one that comes to mind is less of a kiss and more of a bite. Lots of passion and prehensile tails.

Yes, I read odd books.

And I just got "Walk this Way" out of my head a few minuets before I saw this thread, and now it's back in there!
