May I have permission to keep my word count where it is for a few days while I ask my #$%#*$% characters for directions?
Permission granted, soldier. Plotting days can be important.
400 600 words today (so far). I'm still shooting for 1,000 today.

MeowGirl, maybe if you open a blank page and drag a couple of your characters in you could make them do things they hate. In other words, torture them. They might start talking then.

1004 so far! And it's all bare bones, so that's probably really about 1500! And I finished a scene so it's a nice feeling.

I'm joining you guys, but it's a miserable first post: 0 words today.
But the day isn't over. I've not written yet but will tonight.
I'm creeping in with my hand up, but have to confess to no words today (and the day is nearly over here in the UK).
And I'm away for the weekend, so no words then either.

Go, JJ!I messed up last night. I thought I'd saved what I wrote but guess I didn't. Bummed myself out. So, I felt I had to make that up and do lots for tonight too.
Rewrote my 1112 words and did another 2069. Tired but happy.

way to go Mel, great job!I was only able to hit 700 words today, just short of my goal. But I see Mom gave everybody a pass so I don't feel bad for taking time to watch "300"and enjoy some popcorn.
I messed up last night. I thought I'd saved what I wrote but guess I didn't. Bummed myself out. So, I felt I had to make that up and do lots for tonight too.
Rewrote my 1112 words and did another 2069. Tired but happy.

I wrote 26 phases in my "phase outline" (I hope to have between 200-300 phases total). I tried the pants thing on this novel WIP, but just couldn't do it. I outline my short stories, so I don't know why I thought the novel would be any different!

Mel I am so paranoid about losing my work. Automatic back-up through word plus I save everything to thumb drive and back it up everynight on the computer. Good to see you powered back through it. Impressive.
Burgy I would kill for a summer writing day. We're in winter but it's not that bad so I shouldn't complain. 700 words is a top effort.
Way to go Soccer Mom for reaching your goal today.
As for everyone else - let's get tapping away on those keyboards.

Okay, so I have been changing my WIP quite a bit. Not editing. Changing. So I don't know how many words I have been writing per day. I think something around like 600 but they are various versions of the same scene because I am looking for just the right plot.

I sorta tried the phase outline last year but didn't follow through. This year I plan to do it right and be better prepared for NaNo.
JJ!Yeah, I have it set to auto backup, but I have a habit of opening a new page and type in that. Easier to check word count.
Thought I added it to the main one but guess I didn't. That'll teach me! Last night's progress was sent to 4 email addresses.Good writing all round for everyone!

Glad to see everyone hard at work. My target goal for this month is to reach 10,000 words a week. If I do that, I'll finish this book this month and can polish and obsess over it for the month of September.I've got 300 words written today, so only 700 more to make my basic target. I need to start moving the target up to 1,500. :breaks out into flop sweat at the thought:
