So is there somewhere that the Poets Laureate post their official poems? I've looked off and on for Haskins' poems in response to our requests back when he was appointed and haven't ever found them, but I admit I haven't been here much lately.

Are there any responsibilities associated with the position of PL, or is it simply an honorific title?

hey Maggie.

Primarily we can do any of the following:
promote the forum, (William did that by bringing poetry threads into Office Party, and a link in his sig line. I did it with Sig line announcements of requested reading for the day.)
To participate in critique.
To do exercises for the benefit of the forum. ("extended metaphor" is something NeuroFizz has done in that regard. I did the body of work critiques).
We can also be called upon to write poetry for occasions that are appropriate (Kurt vonnegut's passing was one of mine. Jenna's daughter being born was William's, as well as an Ode to Absolute Write.)

We can make the roll what we choose, so yes, there are responsibilities but the poet laureate gets to decide what they are and how they will go about performing them.
Finally, the responsibility of choosing the next poet laureate and answering the Poet Laureate Q&A.

I remember the thread to which you are referring where William said he would write us poetry on whatever topic we requested. I'm not sure what happened to it, though I do know he had an enormous response and perhaps it was too much.

But to your other question, no there is not a "poetry while in PL service" location.

Thanks - I was having trouble wading through all the poetry forum trying to find recent works after being gone for so long.
