Hi,

Wasn't quite sure where to post this question...

Does anyone know if AgentQuery is updated regularly? So many of the agents I look up - all of which are 'Recommended' by P&E - don't have any recent sales listed. They have books listed from 2002 or earlier much of the time. That doesn't really invoke much confidence. But, the more I noticed it, I started wondering if maybe it just wasn't updated with current sales.

The agent I just looked up came from Sterling Lord and his most recent book sale listed was from five years ago.

Thank you for any information! :)

This is a really good question, and I'm anxious to hear the answer. Sorry I can't help.

I'm not associated with Agentquery, but I use the site a lot so here are my guesses.
The information on agents comes from the agents themselves. Agentquery do not collect information on sales. If an agent wants their entry to mention their most recent sales, then they have to input that info themselves; most of them are too busy to do this.
I would not worry about this

Not all agents list their sales. For example, Sterling Lord agency is one of the preeminent agencies in NYC. Sterling Lord is the agent who found Jack Kerouac. Actually, the top agents/agencies do not list thier sales because they don't need to. My agent did not have any sales listed on Publishers Marketplace, yet she sells/sold a lot of books, including mine! Sometimes you have to do a little more research beyond P&E - especially look for agency websites, and see what kind of clients they have listed there, also, a lot of times agents are listed in acknowledgements.
