Special, a film I brought the other day off the Tv, bored, wasn't expecting anything special and what I got was profound, hilaious enough to make me laugh and sad enough to make me cry. (And I'm a pretty manly ma, I've even got hairs on my hand)

It's starts around one of the most overlooked people in the universe; a little known and little liked parking enforcer called Les who joins a clinical study into a pill for self doubt. He's a comics buff and has very few friends living in the shady and godforsaken side of LA. Then, in midst of the mundane something extraordinary happens; Les develops super powers and begins to use them to thwart crime, finally feeling special in an overcrowded and overworked world. But there are men chasing him in black cars, men with powers and the doctor who supplied him with the medication acts rather strange. All around Les tell him he's going mad. And perhaps he is.

The acting in this film is superb, flawless and intense with many monologues by Michael Rappport (Les) as the story's pitiful Protagonist. His jumps in emotion provoke both a fear, despair and connection with the audience as he goes through changes that most people can only dream of. A film that will make you think I guarantee.

Has anyone seen it by chance? I'd love to discuss it, probably my third favourite movie at the moment.

I think I remember seeing a trailer for this a year ago (if it's the rght movie). Is it out on dVD or did you see this in theatres?

Neither, I brought it off my tv. If it's out on dvd though I'd love to get hold of it. Gem of a film.
