I just read an excerpt about writing good dialogue, taken from
Fiction Writing Demystified: Techniques That Will Make You a More Successful Writer, by Thomas B. Sawyer. Has anyone else read this book? It looks great!

Yet another book for my booklist! :)
Something that dramatically improved my dialogue writing was playing an online rpg. Doing lots and lots of dialogue on the fly with no revising allowed was really good for me.

I just listen to the voices in my head.
Oops! Did I say that out loud?

I'm not familiar with that one, Betty. This is the book I swear by for dialogue:
Writing Dialogue by Tom Chiarella (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/1884910327/qid=1090360159/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/702-0334974-5312819)

I just listen to the voices in my head.
HA! Mine are always too busy fighting for me to get a word in edgewise.
You have voices in your head?
Hush, I can't hear what they're saying.
