I stumbled across this today when researching agents on agentquery.com. One agent had a goodreads page (kinda like myspace and you list the books you love and have friends associated with you). Anyway, I basically was able to see which books were this guy's fav's. He had quite a few friends with pages and I think 2 of them were agents, so I read through their lists of favorite books.
The trick would be finding out the page id's for any agents you're targeting. But if you could do that, and your book's a lot like one of the ones an agent loves, you could easily work it into your query letter, a la "my novel will appeal to those who love "Killer Unicorns" by Sir Edmund Hillary. I think in order to do this legitimately, however, your novel must sincerely be like "Killer Unicorns".
Anyway, I signed up for a page today just so I could access everyone's profiles (since the agent guy actually said he was an agent in his profile). The only shortcoming, however, is you can't search for members by keyword, but you can by zip.
